France hosts preparatory meeting in Paris to support Lebanese army
France will host Jordan's King Abdullah and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Thursday for a preparatory meeting on support for the Lebanese army and internal security forces in Lebanon, to be held in Paris. A senior French source told An-Nahar that the meeting is not the conference that will decide on providing support and equipment and distributing it to the Lebanese armed forces, but rather a session to discuss security and military conditions and Lebanon's needs, which will be presented during the meeting. The source said the United States will attend at the military level, along with a State Department official, and Saudi Arabia will also attend at the military level. The source has not yet confirmed whether Prince Yazid bin Farhan will attend the meeting, which will include about 15 countries, including regional states.
