Gaza Peace Council announces Hamas approval of roadmap

Gaza Peace Council: We announce, together with the mediating countries Egypt, Qatar, Turkey and the United States, Hamas’s approval of a detailed roadmap. The council said the roadmap is a historic achievement, as Hamas has formally committed for the first time to an actionable plan. The plan calls for Hamas to give up all its weapons, to be followed by an Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. It added that the National Committee for Gaza Administration will soon begin the transition to assume authority with support from the international stabilization force, and that it only asks Israel to approve the 20-point plan it has initially agreed to.
