Hebrew site says Israeli soldiers bought communication cards from Lebanon

Hebrew site Zaman Israel said a serious field security violation was discovered on Friday among Israeli army units operating in Lebanon, as reserve soldiers from the 699th Paratroopers Battalion bought digital eSIM cards from parties in Lebanon without authorization or prior notice to improve cellular communication among themselves, including messages in secret operational WhatsApp groups. The site added that soldiers operating in a dangerous combat area messaged each other on operational matters using SIM cards purchased in an enemy state, without Israeli army approval.
