Axios says emerging deal would regulate traffic in Hormuz

Axios says the emerging deal would meet some of Iran’s demands by increasing its control over traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. All incoming shipping through the strait and into the Gulf would take a northern route through Iranian waters, while outgoing traffic through the strait and into the Arabian Sea would take a southern route through Omani waters, in coordination with Iran. No fees or taxes would be imposed during the 60-day period. The parties would also work to remove naval mines from the middle passage of the strait within 30 days, after which it would be used for incoming and outgoing traffic under the terms of a permanent agreement to be negotiated between Oman and Iran.
