US Treasury Secretary says deal may soon reopen Hormuz Strait

Enemy media: The US Treasury Secretary said a deal may be seen today or tomorrow to reopen the Strait of Hormuz for 30 to 60 days, which would lead to lower energy prices. He added that the United States is choking Iran economically, that inflation there stands at 150% to 180%, and that Iran is unable to pay its army salaries. He also said the Strait of Hormuz will not return to what it was after Iran used it or tried to use it as a choke point. A US official told Reuters there has been progress in talks between Oman and Iran over the strait, with an agreement expected soon, and that once it is announced the United States will lift the blockade on Iranian ports. Haaretz reported that Iran is nearing a temporary agreement with Oman to open the Strait of Hormuz for 60 days, granting it maritime sovereignty and the ability to impose shipping service fees of 5% to 10% on goods.
