CNN: Chairman Cain seeks exit from war with Iran

CNN: Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Cain is looking for an exit from the war with Iran, amid a belief that the available military options for escalating the conflict could backfire. According to CNN, Cain told senior officials in the Trump administration that a way out should be found and the war ended with a symbolic victory, such as reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The network said sources reported that Cain also stated that air power alone is unlikely to achieve President Trump’s goals, while Channel 12 cited CNN, quoting three sources, as saying he told senior officials in President Donald Trump’s administration that the military options being discussed could produce counterproductive results.
