Jamil al-Sayyed criticizes official leaks after Rome talks

Jamil al-Sayyed asked: What next? From the direct negotiations with Israel in Washington, to the framework agreement with it and the secret annex in it and the announcement of a ceasefire, to the president's visit to the White House, and finally to the end of yesterday's round of negotiations in Rome, to the next round. He said that each time, the state came out to people with leaks from presidential, government and other sources, telling Lebanese that it had achieved gains, a ceasefire, expected withdrawals in the south, and gains from Israel, only for it to become clear that on the same day and the next Lebanon had secretly and publicly conceded everything and received nothing in return. He added: Why does our state not dare to tell people the reality, مهما painful it may be, instead of false media leaks? The worst kind of lying is not deceiving people, but lying to yourself.
