Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson responds to US Treasury remarks

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said the US Treasury Secretary boasted of “strangling” Iran through economic sanctions. He added that the claim is proof of America’s compulsive addiction to sanctions, saying that whenever Washington fails to practice diplomacy it turns to sanctions, and whenever those sanctions fail to produce the desired results it intensifies them. He said this was no longer “policy” but had become a “habit,” and that the danger lies in US politicians destroying what remains of their chances to emerge from a crisis they created themselves in a less humiliating way.
