Aoun says negotiations are progressing and better than war

President Joseph Aoun, speaking to a delegation from the Maronite Foundation for the Diaspora headed by Mrs. Rose Choueiry, said the negotiations are making progress and are, in all circumstances, better than the devastating results of war against Lebanon. He said the scale of Israeli attacks on Lebanon has decreased since the signing of the framework formula, which has had a positive impact on Lebanese people returning to spend the summer in their homeland. Aoun added that there is no disagreement among Lebanese over the objectives, namely the Israeli withdrawal, the return of prisoners and the reconstruction of what was destroyed, stressing that Israel will not be allowed to remain on even one inch of Lebanese land, nor a single one of its soldiers.
