Trump says he changed Turkey route over alleged assassination threat
Trump said he was following Secret Service instructions when his travel route from Turkey was changed. He said the plane change happened in Ankara because of an alleged Iranian assassination threat, adding that “it is up to the Secret Service only. I follow what they want.” He said they wanted him to travel on a different flight, and that he thinks there was some threat, but he did not ask much about it because he receives many threats. He also said the plane he traveled on was in greater danger because it would have been the one most likely to be targeted. Trump added that he does not worry about the Iranian threats in Ankara, and that he was moved between planes in a food truck as a precaution against threats to assassinate him.
