CENTCOM chief reportedly pushes strikes on Iran infrastructure

Israeli Channel 13, citing sources, said CENTCOM Commander Brad Cooper told the Israeli army leadership that he is trying to persuade the Trump administration to strike infrastructure in Iran in order to bring it back to negotiations. The channel added that Cooper told Israel that striking infrastructure in Iran would "change the rules of the game," while Hebrew media reported that he said Washington may have to resume the war "if it has no choice." Channel 13 also said Cooper is pushing to renew airstrikes inside Iran to change Iran's stance in the negotiations. In contrast, the Jerusalem Post quoted CENTCOM as saying reports about Admiral Cooper's alleged remarks during his visit to Israel that he is pushing for strikes on Iran are false. A senior US official was also quoted as saying Iran can withstand a naval blockade for years and that only striking infrastructure would be useful.
