IDF says it killed Hamas commander in southern Gaza

Enemy media: The IDF says it killed a Hamas commander yesterday who had been advancing attacks against Israeli troops in the southern Gaza Strip. The military said the Thursday strike in Khan Younis killed Hudhaifa Khaled Suleiman Qawari, a commander in Hamas's Khan Younis Brigade. It added that during the war, Qawari had been involved in training Hamas operatives, transporting weapons, and working to restore the group's capabilities. The IDF justified the strike during the ceasefire by saying Qawari had recently been advancing attacks on troops and posed a threat to its forces, adding that he was eliminated in an aerial strike. The military also said earlier that a strike two weeks ago in northern Gaza killed Muhammad Bassam Mushtaha, a commander in Hamas's Al-Shati battalion, who invaded Israel on October 7 and held multiple Israelis hostage.
