Sheikh Naim Qassem says war began after failed efforts over prisoners

🔴 Sheikh Naim Qassem said on the anniversary of victory that the war began after political, diplomatic, and other contacts failed to secure the release of Lebanese prisoners in Israeli prisons. He said the War of Truthful Promise came to confront the Israeli assault that began under the pretext of capturing two Israeli soldiers, and that the operation did not, in the usual military sense, deserve to trigger a war, but it later became clear that Israel, in cooperation with the Americans, was preparing for a major war in September 2006. He added that the war ended with the defeat of Israel and the United States before the Islamic resistance in Lebanon and the honorable fighters within the army, people, and resistance equation.
