Salam threatened to resign if Mounsi spoke in parliament
According to Lebanon Debates, during a meeting at Defence Minister Michel Mounsi’s office in Yarzeh with a delegation from the army command headed by General Rudolf Heikal, who visited him to thank him for his supportive stance toward the army during discussions in parliament over the general amnesty formula, Mounsi told the officers what happened with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. He said that Salam threatened to resign from the government if Mounsi went ahead with his decision to deliver his speech before lawmakers.
