Iran says Hormuz insecurity caused by illegal US move

Iranian Foreign Ministry says insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz is caused by what it called the illegal move by the United States. The ministry spokesperson said Washington violated the memorandum of understanding only weeks after it was signed, and said they have followed the fate of the pilots in Qatar since the first days, describing it as a serious and important demand. He added that some parties made a destructive effort that prolonged the negotiations, and that Iran is not a party that makes decisions under the pressure of deadlines and ultimatums. He said talks with Oman are continuing and both sides are working to find a mechanism to secure navigation in Hormuz, adding that no talks have begun because of Washington’s violation of the memorandum of understanding.
