Israeli army says it struck Hamas commanders in Gaza
Enemy media: The Israeli military says it struck Hamas commanders in the Shati area northwest of Gaza City, saying the targets were planning attacks against its forces operating in the Strip. It said the strike was carried out from the air to remove the threat to its troops. In a later statement, the IDF said it targeted commanders and operatives in Hamas's elite Nukhba force while they were meeting, including a company commander, three platoon commanders and several other operatives. It added that one of them infiltrated Israel during the October 7, 2023 attack. The army said it took steps before the strike to minimize harm to uninvolved civilians, and that the results will be announced later. Palestinian media said the strike hit a cafe near the port of Gaza City, killing six people and wounding 10 others.
