Netanyahu says Israel recovered remains of Yehuda Katz
Enemy media: The Israeli army says it has returned the remains of Staff Sergeant Yehuda Yekutiel Katz, the last person missing from the Battle of Sultan Yacoub, to Israel after 44 years. Katz, an armored corps soldier, went missing in June 1982 during the First Lebanon War. The military said his remains were located in a joint intelligence and field operation led by the Military Intelligence Directorate and coordinated with the Mossad, then formally identified at the center for identifying fallen soldiers. It said the battle between the Israeli army and the Syrian army in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley killed 21 Israeli servicemen and injured more than 30. The army also said the remains of Zachary Baumel were returned in 2019 and those of Zvi Feldman in May 2025, completing the mission to bring back all those missing from the Battle of Sultan Yacoub.
