Israel strikes Syrian airbase near Aleppo after warnings

🔴 Israel said it was behind overnight airstrikes on a Syrian military airbase, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office saying Israel and Syria had agreed to maintain the status quo on security matters, but that Syria was about to violate it by allowing Turkish forces to deploy at an airbase near Aleppo. The Prime Minister's Office said Israel repeatedly warned Syria that such a deployment would pose a threat to Israel's security, and that Syria chose to ignore the warnings. It added that Israel will not tolerate threats to its security and would welcome a return to the status quo.
