Surprise strike disrupts Ben Gurion Airport, landings suspended
🔴 عاجل: Ben Gurion Airport was hit by a surprise strike by the employees’ union, causing chaos and unusually heavy congestion. Airlines were told that, if nothing changed, the airport would close at 2:00 PM, while the Israel Airports Authority said air traffic activity would be reduced from 2:00 PM, culminating in a complete halt to incoming flights, with departures operating gradually under an updated schedule. Water bottles were also distributed at the airport, and landings were suspended. It was reported that Wizz Air and Lufthansa would not land in Israel at this stage. Later, after hours of chaos, arrivals and departures were said to resume gradually from 3:00 PM according to the revised flight schedule, after an agreement to reopen the airport. Netanyahu was also quoted as saying after the agreement: “Anyone who obstructs this will be fired.”
