Menassa receives Salam at Benoit Barakat Barracks in Tyre

Defense Minister Michel Menassa is receiving Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the South Litani Sector Command at Benoit Barakat Barracks in Tyre, where they are scheduled to meet with a number of sector officers. Salam had arrived in Tyre on an official visit aboard a military helicopter, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Higher Defense Council, Brig. Gen. Mohammed al-Mustafa, to inspect the barracks and review the army's tasks in the South Litani sector. He also laid a wreath at the memorial for Lebanese Army martyrs at the barracks. The sources said the meeting comes as part of reconciliation efforts between Menassa and Salam after their recent dispute over the General Amnesty Law.
