IDF says Hamas commander killed in strike in central Gaza

Enemy media: The IDF says Sobhi Sami Mahmoud Shahtot was killed in an Israeli strike in Nuseirat in central Gaza this week. According to the military, he was a platoon commander in Hamas's military wing, took part in the October 7, 2023, assault on Israel, and helped hold numerous hostages in Hamas captivity during the war. The IDF said Shahtot was also seen taking part in Hamas's hostage handover ceremonies in November 2023. It said the strike was carried out despite the ceasefire because he had been advancing attacks on Israeli troops and civilians, and was eliminated to remove the threat.
