Hezbollah rejects U.S. sanctions relisting and reaffirms resistance

Hezbollah issued a statement rejecting the U.S. Treasury and State Department statements on its relisting on the sanctions list, saying the decision is an attack on the resistance, its community, base, and supporters, and an effort to besiege them and pressure them politically, financially, and security-wise. It said the U.S. administration treats Lebanon from a position of tutelage and seeks to besiege Lebanese people instead of forcing Israel to withdraw from southern Lebanon and stop its violations, demolition of homes, bulldozing of fields, and killing of Lebanese. It added that its close and fraternal relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran is a source of pride, and said the U.S. administration has no moral or legal eligibility to classify others, describing it as the world’s mother of terrorism.
