Arab and Islamic statement condemns Israeli settlements and Syria strikes

Arab and Islamic foreign ministers issued a joint statement condemning what they described as Israel's illegal settlement policy in the occupied Palestinian territory and rejecting the E1 plan and settlement activities east of occupied Jerusalem. They also denounced settler attacks against Palestinians and the support provided to them by the occupation authorities, and voiced support for efforts to ensure accountability and impose sanctions on those responsible for settlement activity. The statement called on the UN Security Council to take urgent measures to stop illegal settlement expansion.
The ministers also strongly condemned Israeli raids on Abu al-Duhur base in northwestern Syria. They said the continuation of Israeli violations of Syria's sovereignty is increasing tensions and undermining prospects for peace and regional stability, and urged the international community to take a firm stance against the ongoing Israeli aggression on Syria. They called on Israel to respect the disengagement agreement and withdraw from Syrian territory it has occupied.
