Israeli Army Prepares to Blow Up Tunnels in Ali al-Taher

Israeli Public Broadcasting said the army is preparing to blow up tunnels in the Ali al-Taher area in the coming days. An i24 correspondent said the Israeli army is awaiting political-level approval to destroy the Ali al-Taher tunnels, amid assessments that Hezbollah is pressuring Iran to launch an attack if the elevated area is destroyed. The broadcasting authority also said an Israeli plan to reorganize forces in south Lebanon begins with blowing up two tunnel routes under Mount Ali al-Taher, followed by a tactical withdrawal from the yellow line and a retreat toward the gray line, 2 to 4 kilometers from the border. It added that the forces are building 20 fixed positions and that Israel has formally informed Beirut via Washington that residents will not be allowed to return to evacuated villages except through the upcoming Rome talks.
