Israeli Navy chief warns against threats to maritime freedom

Enemy media: Vice Adm. Eyal Harel said Israel will not allow any threat to its freedom of action at sea from those seeking to change the balance of power in the Mediterranean and Red seas. Speaking at a Navy officers' graduation ceremony, he said there is no longer any distant front in the new maritime arena, and told anyone seeking to challenge Israel from the maritime and distant arena that distance will not provide immunity to anyone trying to harm Israel. He said the Navy was built to bring the power of Israel and the IDF to anyone challenging it from thousands of miles away, that it sees the actions, monitors them and prepares for them, and that the Navy will not accept a reality in which Israel's freedom of action or strategic interests in the national maritime arena are under threat.
