Zamir says IDF will soon open new unmanned systems branch

Enemy media: IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir says the military will soon inaugurate a new branch for unmanned systems and artificial intelligence. Speaking at a Navy officers' graduation ceremony, he said the battlefield is changing at a dizzying pace and the army is adapting, adding that the future includes unmanned systems, robotics, drones and widespread use of artificial intelligence. He said he finalized plans for the new branch last week, and that it will be responsible for the rapidly developing field. Zamir said maritime, land and aerial robotic capabilities will be developed, enabling them to operate alongside manned combat teams or in independent missions, increasing operational activity and saving human lives.
