Lebanese army outlines measures in the south and cites Israeli violations
Lebanese army: Amid the recent Israeli escalation, the army command said the continuing attacks on residential areas and institutions, as well as demolition and blasting operations in the south, threaten stability and hinder the army’s mission under the framework agreement. It said the army has begun operational control measures in model areas by setting up 6 fixed checkpoints and 13 monitoring points in Zawtar al-Gharbiya, Frun and Srifa, patrolling around the clock, and seizing about 1,818 weapons and ammunition items, including rocket launchers, rockets, drones and various munitions. It added that roads totaling about 12 km were opened, several houses were searched in accordance with the law and with the owners’ consent, and work is under way to secure residents’ return, clear rubble, reopen roads and help recover the bodies of the martyrs.
