Likud accuses Dahlan of foreign election interference in Israel
Enemy media: Likud says the past two days have revealed blatant foreign interference in Israel’s elections. It said the person behind the false report in Haaretz is senior Palestinian figure Mohammed Dahlan, who is based in the UAE, and that he formed a joint list with Hamas for Palestinian Authority elections. Likud accused Dahlan of seeking to bring down the right-wing government headed by Netanyahu in hopes of taking control of the Gaza Strip, saying that would require a weak left-wing government made up of Eisenkot, Yair Golan, Lieberman, and the Arab parties. It also said Shlomi Eldar, who published the false report, received payment from a left-wing nonprofit linked to Yair Golan’s Democrats party. Likud added that Yair Golan and Ronen Bar secretly visited the United Arab Emirates about two months ago, asking whether the visit is linked to the report in Haaretz.
