Interior Ministry issues new rules for solar panel installations

The Interior and Municipalities Ministry, in cooperation with the Public Works and Energy ministries, has issued a new regulatory decision setting the mechanism and conditions for installing solar panels with a capacity of less than 1.5 megawatts, in order to ensure public safety. The decision requires applications to be submitted to the municipality or district commissioner with the required documents, including a liability certificate from structural and electrical engineers, and the approval of the owner or 75% of owners in the case of installation on common property. It also sets height limits of up to 3 meters for buildings under 15 meters high and 4.5 meters for buildings over 15 meters high, bans installation above the stairwell cage, and for ground installations limits the upper side to two meters and the lower side to 40 centimeters.
