Israeli broadcaster explains tank footage that stirred debate in Lebanon
Israeli Broadcasting Authority detailed the tank that sparked debate in Lebanon over the past 24 hours after videos circulated showing what appeared to be laser beams from its turret in the village of Zawtar al-Sharqiya. It said the tank shown in the clips is a Lion King model, which had been considered secret until recently. It added that Israel had previously authorized disclosure of armored corps tanks with special capabilities, including advanced high-precision positioning. As for the flashing lights seen in the recordings and compared by observers to laser beams, security sources said they were visual effects linked to the filming method and exposure time, not actual laser emissions.
