Following Salam's instructions, solar panel regulation is dropped
🔴 Urgent: The issue of the mechanisms and conditions for installing solar panels with a production capacity of less than 1.5 megawatts has been referred to the National Authority for Regulating the Electricity Sector, to take whatever decisions it deems appropriate within its powers, after consulting the Ministry of Environment and the relevant administrations and institutions, in accordance with Article 26 of Law No. 462/2002 and its amendments, following instructions from Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the start of the Cabinet session. The reasons for issuing Joint Decision No. 1234 dated September 9, 2026, have therefore lapsed and it has been dropped, according to a statement from Salam's media office.
