Fouani says South is inseparable from Lebanon at Beirut conference

Fouani, representing Nabih Berri at the ninth Imam Sadr Cultural Forum conference in Beirut, said the south is inseparable from Lebanon and that defending it, protecting it and rebuilding it are the responsibility of the state and its institutions. The conference was held at Al-Shahid Hassan Kassir Secondary School in Beirut, attended by MP Mohammad Khawaja, former minister Karim Pakradouni and a crowd of figures. Fouani said the legacy of Imam Sayyed Musa al-Sadr is an ethical and national responsibility, and that civil peace is a strategic decision, while resistance, the state and civil peace are not contradictory paths. He also referred to Israeli attacks on southern villages and towns, especially the attack on Gundur Hospital in Nabatieh al-Fawqa, and rejected any waiver of Lebanon's right to prosecute Israel over its crimes against civilians and property.
