Clashes continue between Iranian security forces and armed men in Saravan

Clashes are continuing between Iranian security forces and armed men in the city of Saravan, with smoke rising from the clash sites. Sources said the security forces targeted the militants' fortified position with more than 20 RPG rounds and used drones during the intense fighting. The deputy governor responsible for security and interior affairs in Sistan and Baluchestan province said armed groups hostile to the Islamic Republic had gathered in Saravan seeking to undermine public security and carry out terrorist and sabotage acts, before security forces, thanks to precise intelligence, surprised them and dealt them a heavy blow. The sources say the clashes have been ongoing for five hours.
