Iraq announces resumption of travel and trade at border crossings

Iraq's Security Media announced the resumption of passenger entry through the Shalamcheh and Shib crossings from Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 6:00 a.m., and the resumption of trade at Shalamcheh on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 6:00 a.m., at Mandali on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at 6:00 a.m., and at the Shib border crossing on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 6:00 a.m. The decision came after a review of border crossing operations and their organizational and technical needs, in coordination with the agencies working there. Security Media said movement and trade with the Iranian side have not stopped and continue 24 hours a day at the Zurbatiya and al-Mundhiriyah crossings.
