Burj Abi Haidar clash embarrasses Salam, leaves dead and wounded
Sources in Beirut told Al-Diyar that a clash between members of the Future Movement and the Islamic Charitable Projects Association in Burj Abi Haidar left dead and wounded, including the Future Movement official in the area, embarrassing Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, who had previously launched the slogan of a weapons-free Beirut. They added that the clash between two currents not considered sectarianly or politically aligned with the party, especially after the association's shift away from its previous alliances, highlighted a deeper crisis among political forces and what it described as light illegal weapons held by nearly all sides.
