Sources name five countries proposed to oversee weapons disarmament verification

Sources following Al Modon say five countries are now proposed to carry out the verification mission for the Lebanese Army in pilot areas from which Hezbollah weapons would be removed: Britain, Italy, Switzerland, Canada and Azerbaijan. The sources add that work is under way to add new countries to the list, such as Germany and an Arab state that could be Morocco, while denying that Indonesia is among the proposed countries for this task. They say agreement on these countries will be reached during the next round of negotiations in Rome, alongside discussions on technical mechanisms and the unification of standards to implement the disarmament plan in the pilot areas before moving to other pilot areas.
