Army commander meets U.S. general over south developments

Army Commander Rudolph Haykal received at his office in Yarzeh U.S. General Joseph Clearfield, head of the military coordination group for Lebanon, along with a delegation. The meeting discussed developments in the south, security arrangements related to the framework agreement, and the difficulties facing the army in carrying out its missions, foremost among them the continued attacks, land clearing and destruction by the Israeli occupation. The two sides also stressed the importance of supporting the army as it carries out missions in the south and across various Lebanese areas.
