Prisoners’ Media Office warns of deteriorating health in Negev Prison

The Prisoners’ Media Office said that a number of prisoners in Negev Prison are suffering severe weakness, repeated tooth fractures, large weight loss and a deterioration in their health, as a result of malnutrition and a policy of starvation. It said the food provided to prisoners is given in small quantities and lacks nutritional value, which has worsened dental problems and weakened overall health, amid the absence of necessary medical examinations or treatment. The office warned that the continued policy of starvation and medical neglect could lead to further tooth loss and a serious decline in prisoners’ health, calling on international institutions and the International Committee of the Red Cross to intervene urgently to stop this policy and ensure treatment and health care for the prisoners.
