What does tafyish mean?
Tafyish is the everyday Lebanese term for pulling up the record attached to a plate number: the registered owner, a contact number, and the vehicle itself. This page does that from the plate and symbol.
What you need
Two things: the plate number, and the symbol printed on the plate such as B, S or M. The symbol is part of the plate's identity — the same number with a different symbol belongs to an entirely different owner.
Frequently asked questions
- Is it free?
- Yes. Every car service on LBN News is free and needs no account.
- How fast is it?
- The registry lookup answers in well under a second. Speed violations are fetched live from the Internal Security Forces service and take a few seconds.
- Why do some plates return nothing?
- The registry does not hold a phone number for every vehicle. When none is recorded you get a not-found message, which does not mean the plate does not exist.
